I know I was super pumped when HP 7.2 came out, but for Adam his childhood call back summer blockbuster was The Smurfs! It was his fav cartoon as a kid, and it was a must see. We stopped off on our way back from the BBQ to see this on opening weekend – in 3D nonetheless. The movie was adorable – And actually must better than I anticipated. Not being the biggest smurfette, I had no idea what to expect other than blue creatures and a Neil Patrick Harris (NPH) character – but both NPH and the little blue dudes (and one dudette, as I learned) were pretty entertaining. Good News, they’re already planning the sequel for release in the summer of 2013
Wow! I took way too long a break on this thing. Today, I’ll take the time to get some updates posted.
I think I’ve seen every Harry Potter movie at midnight, the night it was released – Yes, I am one of those people, and I’m proud of it! HP has been a part of my life since I was in junior high school. The day of my sister’s Bat Mitzvah, the four book was released, and my Dad went out to buy it for me. In High School, my competitive constitutional debate team (Go We The People!) was broken out into teams based on a “sorting hat.” In college, I went to a book release party over the summer, dressed up in Griffyndor attire with a large bunch of friends. And in the summer of 2007 when I landed my first “big girl” job, the 7th book was released and I read it on steps of the fountain at Columbus Circle in NYC. I am a big Harry Potter nerd, but in a lot of ways, I feel as if I grew up with him – and to me, HP 7.2, was the ending of an era! It was a great movie, and I even though the next day was exhausting, I would not have wanted to see it any other way.
